The Japanese have been eating it all their lives, and can they live forever (okay, maybe not forever), but there is a health secret behind seaweed that we have yet to incorporate into our clean eating.

Some surprising facts about seaweed apart from it being a low-calorie and mineral enriched snack (and addition to any meal), is that it contains a lot of helpful ingredients that is beneficial to athletes.

For one, the calcium that’s contained in seaweed helps your muscle contract and aids in communication between cells and contributes to the functions of your nervous system.,

It’s also high in iron which will help elevate your energy that is needed for everyday activities, and nourishes the circulatory system that helps with blood flow, allowing you go to harder when you train.

Enough of the lowdown, now onto the recipe!

Please note, we’re not using the pre-roasted, already seasoned seaweed. If you can, get it fresh! However the dried variety is easily accessible in most supermarkets, and you will need to soak it in water to rehydrate that baby.
